My hard work is paying off.

I finally got my labwork back from the dr. I still have a lot of work to do, especially in regaards to getting my HDL levels up over 60, but over all I've came a long way from where I was last year. I wish I could remember what my levels were. Maybe I'll call my dr.'s office just for comparasions. (can we say I've become slightly obsessed).

My cholesterol one year ago was 208 (total)- borderline high.

My current cholesterol (total) is 168

All that oatmeal, really paid off.

My other results:

Triglycerides: 43 (that's actually below normal - not sure what that means)

HDL (good): 49 (can bring this up with work)

LDL (bad) 110 (mid normal - but I can do better)

Basic Metabolic Panel (not sure what all of these mean, but they are all well with in accepted norms)

Sodium: 139

Potassium 3.8

Bicarbonate: 25

Glucose 79 (fasting, last year it was 87. I really have to eat breakfast before I exercise, no wonder I sometimes get light headed when I don't)

Creatine .7

urea nitrogen 9

calcium 9.2 (I guess I need to drink more MOO)

Hemoglobin 13.0 (I've always had good iron, other than a brief period right after my son was born, due to extreme hemoraging)

TSH (thyroid) 3.25.

Can't wait to see how they compare to next years results.

NOTHING tastes as good as HEALTHY feels!!

I'm making salmon loaf and baked beans for dinner. Not sure what else I'm going to make, maybe I'll bake up that squash that is in my cupboard for way too long.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
