Small states and bad winters

Third entry since I moved back "home". I just may get my mojo back yet, it seems to have taken a very long vacation to parts unknown.

I just sent a text meant for my son to my work number, fortunately it's a number than can't recieve texts, and it was a g rated generic text. Whew!!

Today I'm wearing my winter of '96-'97 t-shirt. It reminds me of how much worse things can be. In addtion to 9.5 ft of snow (you read that right 115 inches) and more blizzards than I care to rememeber. That was the winter Dad passed away, and I ended up leaving Mike the first time. It was also the year of the great 500 year flood, that came very close to taking out Fargo and did take out Grand Forks/East Grand Forks about 100 miles straight north of Fargo.

Things aren't the greatest right now (money is always an issue), but I've had the same job for over 11 years, Warren is working and has earned mulitple welding certificates (definately got that from Mike and my dad, not me). We have each other and we have Oreo, the greatest tuxedo cat ever. We also have a nice car, it looks nicer than what we are paying for it and nicer than an almost 20 year old car should.

Despite is geographical size, ND has got to be one of the smallest states. A new coworker recently passed away along with her sister in car accident. Oddly she was also a Holly (there were 3 of us at work). Turns out that a women I've know since I was about 6 (we went to school together) used to babysit for her. I've had things like that happen many times, an old neighbor was related to pastor from my hometown.

I remember freaking out an internet friend who was introducing me to a fellow Star Wars fan from ND. He happened to be from a town where I have family. Turns out he knew my aunt and uncle and was good friends with my cousin. We were like, " 'eh just ND."

Before the oil boom (don't get me started, I'll fracking explode), there was like 6 degrees between seemingly everybody in this state.

Almost time to go home, where I can watch the 2nd episode of Vikings. Ragner is still hot, but he needs to get a grip and stop believing his own press. I'm also reading Game Of Thrones, since there is so much hulabaloo lately I thought I might as well see what the todo is about.

Great story but woof, and I thought Vikings was bloody. Watched the first two episodes on Google Play. My jury is still out on it. Though Tyrion does seem to be the coolest character and Arya too.

Twenty minutes and Lazy Holly gets to come out to play

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
