Here comes the rain again

Okay, I am now convinced that God has a sense of humor. We get one dry almost sunny day, and then the rain drops start falling again. I am so sick of rain. And if Alberta thinks they can send their snow down here, they have another think comming. There should be a law against sending unwanted bad weather across the border.

Warren's arms are already starting to look much better. I swear between the German side with asthma, and the Norweigans who break out at the drop of a hat, there isn't much somebody in our family isn't allergic too. Between me and my son and my cousins, we cover about every allergy on the books, from pollen to soap, bee stings to metal, smoke to perfume. The Allergicsons, thats us. I am beginning to wonder if allergies might not also be part of his behavior problems. Its not as bizarre as some people might think. I know for example that many dyes and preservatives can trigger behavior and emotional problems in some sensitive people, just like they can trigger skin reactions or respiratory problems.

Warren was soo sweet yesterday. He told me, mom's shouldn't have to work on Mother's Day. "That's not fair. Mom's should stay home, so they can go out to dinner with their son's.". That's a bit of a paraphrase, but I still thought it was so sweet. Who needs to be out partying on a Friday night, when you can spend it snuggled up on the couch under a Looney Tunes blanket watching tv, with your almost 10 year old son next to you, falling alseep and using you as a pillow, while you eat chocolate chip cookies. What more could I ask for. I have no idea how I am going to pay bills or what will come tommorrow, but at that moment last night, I knew I had everything I really needed. He made me a wreath of hand tracing cutouts in different colors with a really sweet poem in the center. I have it on the fridge, and it is worth more to me than the Mona Lisa or any famous painting ever will be.

Of course this is the same kid who just now got miffed at me because I wanted to listen to a softer music to go to sleep by and he decided he was more in the mood for Bad Company. I can't believe I have an almost 10 year old, who actually knows who Bad Company is. He likes his parents music alot better than I liked my parents music. All though I appreciate much more now than I did then. I'm sorry but no 80's teenager with any sense, is going to want to get down to Six Fat Dutchman, or the Shimoleski (andI know I spelled that wrong) fun time hour. I learned to Polka by the age of three, I knew Hank Sr. by Kindergarten, and even now I will find my self singing some very very old time country song and wonder where the heck that came from.

I hope Warren doesn't feel the same way about good old fashioned classic/hard rock when he grows up. I doubt it, though lord only knows what will be popular by the time he becomes a full fledged teenager.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
