Normally I keep my mouth shut (so to speak) on the subject of politics. I am neither Repulican nor Democrat, but consider myself an Non card carry Non-partisan member of the Independant party. I don't believe in partisanship, as it only serves to divide people and bury issues under a facade of us vs. them. Some of my beliefs may be condsidered controversial, but can generally be summed up in the statement, "killing another human being anytime for any reason, other than immediate self protection, or protection of the helpless is wrong". THis extends from unborn babies, to evil criminal types. Nuff said.

I didn't watch the President last night, as my stomach is not that strong right now. First of all, I am fully in support of our miliary troops who are doing the job they are ordered to do. However, that said I think the following song lyrics, even though they were written over 30 years ago about an entirely different war (which is a whole nother issue), are still very relevant today. I for one will be praying for my cousin, who went in to the miliary many years ago, because he had a chance to do what he loved (mechanic airplanes), and serve his counry. Now there is the very real possiblity (again) that he may be shipped off to get killed in some far off land, in War many Americans do no support. Many of these soldiers are practically just kids. (Tommy isn't , he is a career man), barely out of high school. They aren't old enough to vote, or buy a beer, but they are old enough to get shot, or blown up.

Don't get me wrong, Saddam is a very evil man, one look at his eyes tells you that. So is Osama. However the Afgan and Iraqi people are innocent bystanders being used a pawns by the big guys. Kinda like two big teenage bullies useing little elementary kids on the play ground to fight each other, while they sit back all nice and safe from the carnage. Shutting up now.

Eve of Destruction
The Eastern world, it is explodin',
Violence flarin', bullets loadin'.
You're old enough to kill, but not for votin',
You don't believe in war -- but what's that gun you're totin'?
An' even the Jordan river has bodies floatin'.
But you tell me, over and over and over again, my friend,
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.
Don't you understand what I'm tryin' to say,
An' can't you feel the fears I'm feelin' today?
If the button is pushed, there's no runnin' away,
There'll be no one to save, will the world in a grave.
Take a look around you, boy, it's bound to scare you, boy.
An' you tell me, over and over and over again, my friend,
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.

Yeah, my blood's so mad feels like coagulatin',
I'm sittin' here just contemplatin'.
I can't twist the truth, it knows no regulation,
Handful of senators don't pass legislation,
An' marches alone can't bring integration
When human respect is disintegratin',
This whole crazy world is just too frustratin'.
An' you tell me, over and over and over again, my friend,
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.

Think of all the hate there is in Red China,
Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama.
Ah, you may leave here for four days in space,
But when you return it's the same ol' place,
The poundin' of the drums, the pride an' disgrace.
You can bury your dead, but don't leave a trace.
Hate your next-door neighbor, but don't forget to say grace,
An' tell me, over and over and over again, my friend,
You don't believe we're on the eve of destruction,
No, no, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
