Sunday morning rambling

A rare quiet morning all to myself. For whatever reason, inspite of taking his meds on schedule last night, Warren decided that he would go to bed, but he couldn't sleep. So of course he ended up awake until like 2 or 3 am. Hopefully this won't throw his schedule off too much. I usually hate Sunday's. Its the last day before Monday. It means washing mega loads of clothes and battling the homework Monster. I've found in Warren's case I check his backpack my self everynight, and look at his agenda book to see exactly what needs to be done, so I can make sure he has enough time. Otherwise he tends to take two pages of math work and make it sound like a 5 minute project. It helps that his teachers make him write down the assignments, and that I am in constant contact with all his teachers, either by phone or by note. Sometimes I feel like, I'm going thru elementary school all over again.

It was great to have an actual dinner last night. I made a chicken with olive oil and garlic that came out awesome.. I love EVOO, its my new kitchen best friend. I had baked potatos and baked beans. Of course this time my usual bottom less son, was unusually not hungry. he ate beans and a couple bites of potato and a bite of chicken and that was it. At least I enjoyed it, and I'll have a week worth of chicken salad sandwhiches for work.

I'm also counting down the days to Halloween this year. I can't wait, because its the weekend of Valley Con. Calthea*, , another girl and I are hosting the movie room this year, with a theme of Women of Sci Fi. I'm still working on my costume, but so far I haven't found exactly what I am looking for. My son wants to go as Darth Vader, which would be cool. But I am not going as Shmi. LOL!! And the guest of honor is Walter Koenig. I'm thrilled. I missed when Nichelle Nichols was there about 12 years ago, this time I can't miss.

But right now, I'm off to enjoy a good leisurely breakfast with the tv all to myself. Solitude...sweet quiet solitude... something I don't see much of with an over active ten year old.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
