Friday Fives

What is your favorite restaurant and why? I guess I have a couple of favorite restaurants, meaning places where one sits down and is waited on by people who bring you food on real dishes that are washed not thrown away. My top two pics would be Krolls diner and Space Aliens The second is a favorite of both my son and I. Its is like a bizarre love child of Applebees and Chuck E. Cheese. They have super food, (ribs to die for), adult drinks, games, a separate bar area, and a very cool Science Fiction Outer Space theme. It has to be seen. It is by far the best place in F-M, and not that expensive either, though a bit pricey for regular weekly visits. Warren would live there if I could afford it. One of these days we may even go all out and drain the aliens brain. (dont' ask, you have to go there, sadly they are only found in Fargo and Bismark)
. What fast food restaurant are you partial to? If I had to pick one I guess it would be McDonalds. Warren prefers Subway though. If I had my druthers I would want a Whopper from Burger King, Fries from McDonalds, adn a frosty from Wendys. Though McD's new chicken strips are awesome.
What are your standards and rules for tipping? I don't really have any standard. Usually depending on the place and the service I try to tip around 15% or so, higher if I am in a more high end place or the waitresss really went beyond the call, or we were a difficult party and left a mess or made her night harder. I have waited tables, sort of and after 7 years in a deli doing everything, and I mean everything, I tend to be sensitve and will often prebuss the table, stacking things and wiping it down so it is not a mess, cause I hated people who ate like pigs and left a disaster behind.
Do you usually order an appetizer and/or dessert? It depends on how hungry I am, but as a rule no. I rarely have an apetizer and ever rarer ever have dessert. Usually the entree alone is more than I can often eat. Esp at the above mentioned places. Many times I have wound up taking some thing home with me. (Hey I did pay for it, and they will just throw it other wise so why not)
What do you usually order to drink at a restaurant? As a rule either milk, water or soda. Once in a great while if I am out with just grownups and don't have to drive I may have one drink, usually a wine cooler, or if I am in a really good mood I will splurge and have a Long Island, but only if I dont' have to drive. I am paranoid about that. I also just don't like to drink that much. I've never really cared for alchohol and I dont' really handle it well. I guess 10 years with a raging drunk does that to a person.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
