Guess who came home yesterday to find a lovely media envelope in her mail box all the way from Tokyo Japan??

Its official I am in print, in Japanese (and English for translation) with 26 other American bloggers. I'm on page 32. I feel so special. Though I can't help judge myself against some of the others, though they all seem like ordinary average folks. Now if only I could read Japanese, so I knew how it translated literally. I think I'd probably get a good laugh, as I am sure somethings in different cultures just don't translate well to others.

I must admit my name looks kinda cook in Japanese though. I'd love to know what the characters mean.

If you want to check it out, The publisher does have a web site, but its all in Japanese.

I only wish there were readable links to the other blogs in the book, some of those folks sound like they'd be very interesting to read.

Time to have some one on one with Google me thinks.

I'd love to scan in some pages, (hopefully I'm not violating any international copyright laws, or I'll pull it if I am) as soon as I can get on the scanner, which is taken for the next hour, and I can't wait that long. Hopefully I can get here tommorrow and do it.

I'm so thrilled. I read the whole thing in one sitting last night (which didn't take long as most of it isns't in English. (Its a college text book for Japanese students who want to improve their English and learn more about American Culture. Oddly the guy who first contacted me IS an American, who happens to live and work in Japan.

I feel so special now. Like I'm super important or something, cause I can technically say I've been published. Not quite how I first dreamed of being published, but everybody has to start somewhere.

For those of you that are new here, let me give you the Reader's Digest version. Last fall I was contacted by an American who works for a publishing company in Japan, who publishs text books. They were compling a book of American blog entries for teaching English and American culture. My October 6 (too lazy to look it up, as my archives are a mess), is the one they liked. I didn't get paid, but I did get a free copy. That's good enough for me.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
