Finally started the Lamictal last night. Not sure what to think of it. No bizarreness with this med, no odd side effects so far. However I did sleep better than I have in a long time. I got up got my son fed, read and off to school. I then lay down again and promptly took a two hour nap, not something I normally do. I still feel a bit pea soupy. Not exactly in a fog, but like I need a bit more kick than usual to get things done.

I promised Warren I would bake another banana bread, I also need to get the dishes done and yell at somebody about the garbage disposal that doesn't, at least not for more than 2 or 3 days at a time. I hope this med is as good as the hype on it. I did sign up on line for monthly 10 dollar off coupons, just in case. I had a free coupon [I hate that, it sounds like I'm buying a pizza or somethign, not a freaking psych med], for a free month's starter pack. I looked on the label and if I had to pay it out of pocket it would be nearly 200 bucks. I sure as hell don't have that kind of budget. I'm glad Warren is able to get his meds as free smaples, and I am one of those lucky enogh to have decent insurance. Why the F is the USA the only country where medicine is still despensed on the basis of who can pay the most, instead of who needs it the most. So what if some rich lady has to wait a bit longer to get her tummy tucked or some Harvard grad can't buy two lambrouginis, there are more important things here. Medical care should go first and foremost to those who have the greatest need for it, it should not be awarded on the basis of who can pay the most. All people deserve equal and excellent care, no matter how much or how little they have. Its as much a basic right, as the right to vote, to speak your opinion, read a book, have enough to eat, or own your own property. I can understand charging a ton for non mendically necessary stuff, like liposuction, or a nose job because you just don't like your face, but have no medical issues, but other things, you shoud get regaardless of yhour ability to pay, and that includes meds that can make a difference in one's ability to function like a normal human being, maintain life support, or just generally be able to function. One should not have to choose between a life saving medication and paying the rent or buying groceries. It is a choice no one should ever have to make. And dont' even get me started on the price gougings and over charging of the pharmectuetical companies. I mean really. If they can sell the same pill outsid ethe US for a fraction of the price, than they can sell it here for that price, and still make a profit. So the exec can only afford one Rolls instead of two, Cry me a river..

Jumps off soap box.

I did wake up with a mild headache, but it was minimal, and most caused I think because I slept with my teeth clenched fo rsome strange reason. Not something I normall do. But lately it feels like there is something in my teeth, but it isnt' there. Adn I have a bizarre need to chew, even when there is nothing in my mouth. I may ask about that at the dentist while I take Warren in.

Time to go see if I can actually accomplish something.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
