The house is still a pit, but at least it smells nice. Warren hasn't been eating as good for dinner as I would like. I know partially its been my fault, I've just been so moody that I dont' feel like cooking an actual meal. Yesterday I made a start, though my homemade cheeseburger macaroni wasn't a total hit. I tried using cheddar, as it is his favorite cheese, but it doesn't melt so well. It looked good in the pan and tasted good, but when served it looked a bit bizarre.

Today I went with a guaranteed hit. I have a bunch of cans of beans in the cupboard (don't ask) and a friend had brought over some hamhocks (he works at a meat plant) so I have a large pot of bean and ham soup cooking downstairs. It needs to cook a lot longer as the veggies are still a bit crunchy even after sauteing (I love you Rachel Ray!), but the broth is already YUMMMY!! After too many meals of cereal, sandwhiches or canned soup it will be good for him to eat a very filling meal with lots of beans, carrots, onions, celery, corn, ham and chicken broth. I may even add some rice and make it a bit of mildy spiced Cajun inspired dish, but I think its hearty enough as is. I have a bag of baby spinach (his favorite veggie - go figure) in the fridge. Its about time the kid ate a balanced meal. I'm tired of hearing how he is starving to death every night when he should be getting ready for bed.

Warren is doing great in school, but he never misses a chance to talk about how he hates it. Sometimes he is excited about his day, but mostly he hates his teacher, even though I love her. She seems like a great lady and she thinks a lot of Warren, though I know she is very strict and a stickler for the rules which is hard for someone like Warren who is used to being able to talk his way out of a lot of things, or play "Let's Make a Deal."

The idiot goes to court on Tuesday, so that is another weekend I have to put up with him. But Warren still loves him anyway, so I guess I just have to deal.

' My soup is making me hungry, its been so long I've forgotten what a good cook I can be.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
