The dumming of America

Not much to say tonight. Not in an updatey-mood for some reason. I spent a great afternoon at B&N. I met Kat at 3 and we had a great time for a couple of hours. Then she went home and did something productive, while I picked up a few more books and sat down to get lost in my mind for another 4.5 hours. Yup it was after 9 when I decided I better get home. I stopped at Culvers (Frozen Custard Butter Burgers, how appetizing is that. I think they really need an "and" in there some where) for supper as I really didn't feel up to making anything, but the loud rumbling in my tummy said "feed me". I came home, fed the cats (they eat like piggies) and hoped on line. Here I am.

I found a M*A*S*H book with all 251 episodes and cast interviews with everyone but AA (strange but..). It is soo mine. I can't believe this is the 30th anniversary. Now I really feel old.

I also looked thru some interesting html books. I so want to learn more CSS (and Java) but alas it too will have to wait. I can't believe that B&N was missing the EPII Vanity Fair issue though. At least they had the first volume Watchers guid to Buffy. I could fill in some missing pieces. (Damn you S* for getting me hooked. LOL You know I love you...most of the time..)

Yes my coffee table is wierd. Or would be if I had one. Who else would have Dave Berry, Erma Bombeck, Douglas Adams, Parents, Ladies Home Journal and a M*A*S*H book along with a Buffy Guide, a computer book, a cat book , several ST/SW novels and a Better homes and Garden's subscription some nice soul gave me. I never ordered it, but according to the label it is good till 05. Thank you who ever sent it to me. I've been getting it for over a year now. I am different and I like it that way.

I don't get this need to define one's self by group labels like democrat or republican . It becomes more about group dynamics and us vs them, than about what is right or wrong. People get so wrapped up in the party its like a sports team. I vote for "MY candidate" right or wrong. I personally don't care what party a candidate is. I want to know what their character is and what kind of record do they have. Do they beleive what I believe, or do they believe something I can't in good conscience support. I am a true independant I suppose. I hate politics. It is such a stupid game of favor trading and manipulation. I would never make it in public office. I see good and bad in both sides. Some I agree with some I don't. Some might accuse me of being a fence sitter, but I am not . I am a brain who likes to form her own opinions. I hate political commercials for this reason. They have nothing to do with who is really best it is all PR and manipulation of peoples minds. Who is best at playing the game. No wonder Washington is such a mess. The worst part is so many Americans are dumb enough to fall for it. They don't even see propoganda for what it is. Maybe I am just jaded, but my estimation of the average American IQ is slowing going down to the point where I really worry about us.

Where did that come from. For not being in an updatey mood, I sure did actually update. Sometimes I wish my brain came with an on/off switch. Life would be much easier.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
