One of my friends took a bunch of flood pictures at work and such, but still hasn't emailed them to me. Hopefully when I get them I will post some of them for you.

Meanwhile this should give you and idea of things for now.

Fargo won the first round, too bad mother nature's is gearing up for round two. .Luckily we've been there before and are prepared. Most experienced flood fighters from here, think the weather serice is just over estimating to cover thier buts after they goofed in 1997.

Small geography lesson here. Fargo and most of eastern ND into Western MN is basically an old lake bed (aka Lake Aggasiz) and if you look at a map it has rivers slithering around like Snakes on a Plane). When there is a lot of moisture that the ground can't take it tends to run overland to fill in the rivers and the rest of the space, as this is some of the flattest land you will find. )end geography lesson

Anybody wishing to make donations to help out those in this area who weren't as fortunate as I and many others can check out these links:
Spirit of Fargo
United Way of Cass-Clay

I believe donations can also be funneled thru the Red Cross, or the Salvation Army, but I'm too lazy to get links for those.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

We've won before and we will win again.

At least sandbagging counts as both strength training and cardio doens't it??

Hopefully this time I'll be able to put in more than a few measely hours if they need me. Its actually kind of fun, in a community come together in face of disaster sort of way. At leas sandbagging at work was kind of fun and energzing. It just feels like you are doing something. Its also a great way to meet all sorts of people you normally would never meet or get to know. Its also a great way to vent your stress in a manner more productive than throwing furniture across the room.

Still not up to talking, as pardon the innapropriate metaphor, but if I open up those flood gates right now, it will be definate 50 footer (The Red in Fargo, floods at 18 feet).

I also wanted to Thank Cosmic for the wonderful award and awknowledgement. I really appreciate it. However I think I will bow out gracefully. I think everyone on my blog list is wonderful and I just am not really up to it. But I am flattered to be thought of . Danke

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
