It's a really really small world out there, despite how huge it all feels when it is crashing down on you.

The other day out of boredom and parental consent I googled my son's name. Nothing bad turned up, the only thing that really turned up about him actually, was really quite a mind blower.

It seems one of my distant cousins {3rd if we calculated it right, we share the same great great great great grandparents}, had put together a family tree of what would be my paternal grandmother's{the one I look like oddly enough} family tree.

I'm telling you it was really freaky. Once I read who had put it together I was amazed and fascinated. I remember meeting this particular cousin when I was about 14 or so. He and his brother were a few years older than me. They went to school in the US for awhile and I think lived here for a while afterwards, but A* at least moved back to Norway.

I did correct him on a few minor points that I recognized, but I still learned a lot I didnt' know about my great grandparents and my great greats etc.. I didn't realize how old my family is. Four generation is all it takes to get back to the early 1800s.

It was also interesting to find out I have a cousin named Warren and another cousin {his brotehr} is married to a Holly.

My grandmother's family was originally from the Ballestrand area of Norway, but moved to Minnesota sometime in the late 1800s, as my grandmother was one of the oldest of 9, and she was born in 1898. I also never realilzed I have a great aunt buried in Hibbing, between her two husbands. The afterlife must be an interesting place.

It seems my great great grandmother was quite the storyteller, since my dad was also a storyteller, I guess that must be where my blogging gene comes from .

I sent him an email, and I heard back from him today. I'm telling you this world is way to small.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
