Last night warren was good about his curfew even though he didn't like it. The other night when I made him stay in, instead of going back to his friends house, he cooperated, he hated it, but he listened. (I am wrong in thinking that a 13 year old should be home at 9pm on a school night, homework or no homework).

He still wants to argue over everything. But I think I'm beginning to understand him a little better. His problem is that he tendst o think to much. I've raised him to question things, not be a shieep following the leader du jour, and to think for himself.

I may have done my job a little too well. Its all well and good to be an indivudal and to not be one of the flock. But to be a successful person he also needs to learn there are times when it is best to keep your mouth shut. That you can disagre with someone, even think they are full of it, but that is isnt' always appropriate, or in your best interest to say so out loud. That sometimes even the strongest individuals, need to be with the program. And a truly well developed person, knows when it is best to speak out, and wehn it is best to shut up.

Clearly he is struggling with some of these issues. I've forgotten how hard 13 can be, especially for a kid who is clearly gifted in areas I'll never be. HIs emotional maturity is going to take a long time to catch up to the rest of him, but I think he is going pretty good.

This moring i found this on the computer. It was wrttien complely by him. I didn't correct the obvous spelling or grammer mistakes, his technical skills need a lot of work, ut he has much potential, and is most clearly my kid.

What do you think the most powerful word in the english language, you might say mony, love, or god depning on the tipe of person you are. I think that the most powerful word is why, it's the word that can get you in troble, more knowlage, or hated on. if you ask a micanic why is transmition fluid diferant from ingen oil. the diferents is the tempiture thet can stand . if you ask your boss "why do we half to it this way that way would be much more effitent and easyer" it could get you fired. I changed the type size, but my son is writing things out, like his teachers and I have told him too. So his techinical skills need major work, he is writing. I passe at least one of my genes on to him. I so want to encourage him, but I also want to make sure he learns the fine art of diplomacy, befoe he gets him self in too deep.

He feels like his teachers hate him, and he doesn't understand what he is doinn wrong. I just wish I coudl tape him during hte day, and let him see how he sometiems looks to others. I bet it would be a real eye opener. . So many times we think we are comming across one way, and have no idea that to otehrs it appears totally different.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
