The Great Day!!

Today was a great day, and I must say it is about time!!

Warren's appointments went great, and he managed to communicate to me a few things that I don't like but think he may be right on. He is growing up so fast, its scary. My little boy can't be turning into a man already. Sometime he acts like he is 8, but other times he acts like he's 25 and I am finding that quite unerving. Why do we spend the better part of our kids lives wishing they would grow up, but as soon as they do we get nostalgic for when they were little? Must be one of the paradoxes of parenthood.

My appointment with the audiologist was also very good. I am relived to know my hearing is normal for my age, I just have lost my filter, and my attention span. In othrwords I am no longer able to tune out background noise the way I used to. If yoiu want to talk to me, shut off the elctronics, the sink, the shower, the tv and get my attention. That's a load off my mind. Now if I can just get Warren to stop shouting at me while he's in the livnig room watching tv and I'm in the kitchen with the water running doing dishes, than getting mad cause I didn't hear him.

I also weighed myself again, and was quite pleased to discover I've managed to drop another 3 pounds. I have no idea where it went? I hadn't had anything to drink yet, so I'm sure some of it was water, but I dont care. I'm 9 pounds away from my half way point, and I'm psyched. My son's counselor even asked if I'd had bariatric surgery. I guess I must look quite different from when he last saw me. When I said no, he was amazed and than afraid I'd be offended. Au contrair. I was quite flattered actaully. My son didn't even notice I borrowed a pair of his pants, as mine that came close to fitting we in the laundry. And his pants were too big on me. I had to wear a belt. Rockin' Rockin" Rock ON!!!

I managed to hit the local plus size consignment shop (I love this town), and snag thre pairs of pants and three shirts, for the same price adn most places charge for one or two pairs of pants. Or course I had to try on about 500 to find those, but still. I have clothes that fit. I won't even rant about how I hate women's clothing manufacturers with a passion.

I met with Warren's teacher this morning, and she was quite impressed with his maturity this year too. He's not perfect, he still manages a few comments that really dont belong in a classroom, but he is a middleschooler. He brought home math homework and actaully worked on it while we were watiing for our ride at the car rental place, and when we got home he did it all by himself after supper without once getting upset (trust me, for us that is a major milestone). Afterwards he asked me to check it, and when I pointed out couple of mistakes, he didn't get angry, and he was actaully glad I checked it and point out what he did (easy mistake he added when he meant to multiply). I'm so proud of him I could burst.

My Kasora (see link on the left of he page) tea package came today. I am quite impressed with them. (For those that don't know I linked them in my blog , in exchange for a lovely sample package of some really great, exotic teas). Not only did they send some great teas (only a couple of which I've been able to try), but they also sent a cute tea strainer that it shaped like a lemon wedge. some great fill your own tea bags, some green tea gum (an aquired taste, but good)., and a Stewie (of Family guy fame) pen for Warren since he wore a baby Stewie shirt for his school pictures. He love the pen. But if I have to hear (ooh you're so observant, are you a detective?" one more time I'll scream. Warren thinks its funny to ask a silly question and then play it when you answer). I think he'll need a warning that brinnging it to school = not a good idea. I can't wait to try out the est of my teas. The Rain tea was tops, especially with a little honey.

Tonight, I was in such a good mood, I made one of Warren's (and mine) favorite meals, homemade chicken strips I aso made beans and mac and cheese. My hard work seems to be paying off. I've adjusted to smaller food portions. I am actually full on half or less of what I used to eat. Today for lunch I treated my self to half a orental salad and a bowl of Mininesota wild rice soup at Rising Bread in the mall. I was actually full after my salad and ended up taking over half my soup with me. The old me would have ate all that, and had room for ice cream and a soda. Tonight I barely at about 12 cup o a little more of mac and cheese and about 2 chicken strips (I usualaly get three from one boneless skinless chicken breast), I could barely eat more thana few spoonfuls of beans. Later I did have some desert though. A nice juicy slice of watermelon. .

I gotta get off ina bit, Since Warren has beein doing so great. I promised him I would let him use the computer.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
