Had a pretty good birthday. I couldn't even cheat when I had permission to. I went to Culver's (had a gift card from work). Iwas going to get the fish (it sounded healthy) but ended up with the mandarin salad. I'm glad I did. After I had my food, I read thru the nutrition information. HOLY CALORIES BATMAN!! Boy am I glad I went with the salad. I saved myself at least 700 calories and about a pig's worth of fat. I'm hopeless.

I did splurge a little bit though. I had a small Ice cream cone from McD's. And later I treated myself to some Minnesota Wild Rice Soup from The Rising Bread Company. Other than that, I haven't really done anything for myself today, but do lots of walking, oh and try on some clothes. I didn't buy any but it was cool to try on some.

Size wise that is. (Another couple months and I can kiss the fat chick stores good bye - I hope) At least with most pants. I wish clothing manufacturers would get it together with some better standards already. The sizing in men's pants makes so much more sense. You know your inseam, your hips, your waist badda boom badda bing. I did try on a pair of men's pants. They actually fit pretty good. A little big on the waist and snug on the hips, but had I looked around a bit more, I probably good have found a better fit.

I wear the same size as my 13 year old son. There is something seriously wrong with this picture. I can wear and XL in men's shorts and a L in shirts. (go me!!). And they actually looked good.

What is with the super low rise on so many women's pants? I'm sorry but I don't care how your built, keep your coinslot to your self please. I can understand a little bit lower cut as that does look good on many figures, but some are just ridiculous. And please keep your undies out of view, that is just gross. Unless we are dating I dont' want to know what underwear you are wearing!

What is with the clingy fabrics in shirts? I want a top that makes me look good, not one that accentuates every curve and bulge. Maybe I'm just shopping in the wrong stores, but the more I shop for women's clothes the more I find myself running to the men's department where sizes make sense, and clothes are designed to be comfortable and practical, not cute and stylish.

I must be getting old. The first sign of ageing is when comfort trumps style. I don't care how it looks, if it ain't comfy I ain't wearing it.

Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes. All in all, it was a pretty good birthday. Only 365 Days until the next one. Only 1095 days until the big 40!!

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
