Difficult Children Diary Ring

I created a new diary ring for those of us who love our kids, but find they are much more of a challange than we signed up for.

I am not talking about the ordinary problems of child raising but those that go above and beyond, be it rages, fires, anorexia/bulimia, arson, drugs/alchohol, stealing, self injury, bullying/fighting, or other forms of acting out, that cause problems at home, at school, or at childcare. Kids who may have ODD, be bipolar or have other emotional issues. These kids may be on medication, often are under one or more doctors, have ISP's, in some cases such as my son may have been hospitalized, have been kicked out of childcare or suspended from school for thier behavior, and generally do not seem to be wired like most kids.

Until I found diaryland, I felt like I was alone and to blame for many of my sons issues due to his fathers own problems. I know realize thanks to Diaryland and Access (a local program) that there are many kids like Warren, kids who are often extremes. Kids who can be sweet at times and other times are extremely difficult to love.

Often times others look at them and say "that kid just needs a .... (fill in the blank, more discipline, a spanking, a kick in the pants..a hug, you name it). But we've probably tried every discipline technique in the book and then some. They don't work. These kids have issues beyond simple disciple. They are difficult kids, they have problems requiring professional help. Our kids don't act out because we don't know how to parent. Ring is open to all parents, who have kids that fall into the above description, be they your biological kids, adopted kids, foster kids, or any other kids you are raising who fit this description. All families are welcome irregardless of the sexual orientation of the parents, irregardless of marital status.

Please no locked diaries as that defeats the purpose of this ring, also please no porn diaries, no hate sites and no diaries that promote abusive behavior.

I found the cartoon thru google, I thought it was pretty funny, and it illustrates the situation pretty good.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
