Sometimes you just gotta love your kids approach to getting something. Tonight while I was making supper my son informed me that I need to make cookies. No details no asking, he just tells me. "oh mom, you need to make more cookies". Of course this leaves me asking questions, only to find out, one detail at a time, that they are having a Christmas/winter party at school on Tuesday the 23rd, and I have been volunteered to bring cookies for his class. He couldn't tell me this all at once though. Instead I had to ask him separately for each detail.

"Why do I need to make cookies?" I need to bring some cookies.

"How many cookies do I need to make" About 21 cookies, plus teachers.

When do I need to make these cookies? Our Christmas party, on Tuesday

Well I appreciate your giving me some notice, I guess I'll be baking cookies this weekend.

then a few minutes later I ask him

Do these have to be homemade cookies or can I go to the store and buy cookies like most working moms well I guess they can be store cookies, but its just that yours are so much better (insert puppy dog eyes).

Just for that, I am buying a new cookie scoop and making you chocolate chip cookies this weekend. (* turns out he loves my choc chip cookies, just that the chocolate is too runny when they are still warm). . Okay, but can you make more than 21, we might need some extra

You mean so that my there will be enough extra for my son to sample them beforehand. Something like that yes..

Sometimes you just have to love them. Especially after he came right out and thanked me for letting him sleep in late this morning, since I had the day off, and we were both up late, studying the history of Middle Earth and the rise of Aragorn to the throne. **wink wink** Frankly, I think enabling him to have a good day is more important at this point than promptness. If he had been forced to go to school with out enough sleep, it would have been very hard for him to be successful. We are already attempting to figure out when we can see it again. I can't wait until the extended version trilogy of all three movies on DVD is released.

And if anybody is wondering, my previous entry was not directed at any one person in particular. It was meant in general terms. I've just been thinking alot lately about how a person's view of themselves can sometimes be so different from how others see them, and vice versa.

And to end on a happy note, check out the three Muskateers from Valley Con. I'm the one in the black Vampirey get up, Calthea aka K* is the one in the Gypsy outfit, and A* is in the sexy witch outfit.

Mini-Bio

In every neighborhood there is at least one house that all the neighbors gossip about. This is a diary from the woman who lives in that house. I am a single mother in her mid thirties. I live in North Dakota with my son, Warren.

I tend to be a bit of a slob, and am the opposite of a girly-girl. I am geek girl, who loves Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Buffy, Angel, action movies, science fiction, action adventure, Dr. Who, and so on and so on.

I love to write and while I don't post much fiction online anymore I would love to be a writer someday. I am also overweight, bipolar and suffer from allergy induced asthma.
